The City of Newton will hold a Housing Strategy Location Selection Workshop on Sunday, November 22 from 1-4:30 PM at Newton North High School.

Newton is sure to benefit from offering walkable, transit-oriented, diverse and affordable housing choices for a growing senior population, as well as city employees and young families, who might want to live here. In June 2015, the Department of Planning and Development and Mayor Warren embarked on a 9-month process to develop a City-wide Housing Strategy. This strategy will identify housing development goals and provide us with a clear set of actions to advance those goals. It is anticipated that action items will include policy and financing recommendations, as well as specific locations for new development.

Your thoughts and ideas will be instrumental in shaping a housing strategy that deals with current and future needs. Please RSVP at housing@newtonma.gov. If you cannot attend, click the my sidewalk link to share your views on housing needs and opportunities for our city now and into the future.
Join the conversation at https://newtonhousing.mysidewalk.com/ and the Newton Housing Strategy mailing list to receive updates on upcoming meetings.
