With daylight getting shorter and more bikers riding in the dark, a front white light and a rear red light and reflector on your bicycle are not only a good idea for safety, but they are now required by law. Additionally, drivers must provide a safe passing distance of at least 4 feet when passing vulnerable road users like people on bicycles and scooters.
MassBikes offers a program which provides free lights to bicyclists who need them across Massachusetts and is looking for volunteers and businesses to support the program.
