Sunday, May 4, 9am-12pm. Woodcock Meadow in Nahanton Park.
Green Newton invites you to be part of our clean-up crew for NewtonSERVES, an annual community service event. Join us at Woodcock Meadow in Nahanton Park to help protect native plants by removing garlic mustard—an invasive species that’s easy to pull but poses a serious threat to the park’s ecosystem. Your efforts will make a real difference in restoring this natural space.
Please wear protective clothing, including gardening gloves, and bring at least a liter of water. We’ll provide snacks. No tools are needed.
All volunteers must register through the link below. Volunteers ages 14-17 must have an adult present and can receive credit for community service hours if needed. Please register by May 1.
Register on the NewtonSERVES website.
Notes: When registering, scroll down and select the “Nahanton Park – Invasives Pull” site location. Green Newton membership is not required to volunteer. All who register are welcome!
