The Mystic Charles Pollinator Pathways Group (MCPPG) is a volunteer coalition of gardeners and native plant enthusiasts. They have come together to promote and create more pollinator habitats in our region in response to the significant declines in native pollinator species such as bees, butterflies, wasps, and moths.
The organization currently has representation from Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Lexington, Medford, Newton, Somerville, Waltham, Watertown, Winchester, and Woburn. They welcome anyone in these and nearby towns to attend the meeting on the second Tuesday of each month, from 7:30-9pm.
MCPPG is currently mapping private and public pollinator gardens in the watershed communities of the Mystic and Charles Rivers. Please help! Add your native plant garden to the map by taking their survey. Not sure your garden qualifies? Make a New Year’s resolution and take the pledge to create native plant gardening areas that expand food supply for pollinators (and birds) and restores healthy, biodiverse ecosystems to our communities. You can visit the map here, explore peer entries so far, and take an “armchair garden tour” by clicking on all the starred entries.
If you would like us to add a public green space in your community to the MCPPG map, you can do so at the Mystic Charles Pollinator Pathway Public Green Space Form.
Pollinators know no boundaries. Support bees, butterflies, birds, and our planet today. For more information, visit the MCPPG page on Facebook.
