If you’re looking to ditch your car (and rising gas prices), look no further than the bus! With several bus routes throughout Newton, it is a great, sustainable alternative to get around town and beyond. Many of the routes even connect to the T, allowing for even more car-free trips.
Last month, the MBTA proposed an updated route map for Newton as part of their Bus Network Redesign, and they want your feedback. Changes include more weekend service, and better connections to destinations like Longwood Medical Area, Brandeis, and the Chestnut Hill Mall. Whether you’re a regular bus rider or are considering riding for the first time, now is your opportunity to make your voice heard to help improve our bus network at a time we need it the most.
You can find the proposal for Newton’s bus network here, as well as on this interactive map that shows bus stop locations. The MBTA will be holding a public meeting on June 28 at 6pm to get feedback on the new route design. You can also provide input using their online survey. Feedback will be reviewed and incorporated into a final network that will be shared with the public in fall 2022.
