Mason-Rice Elementary Composting

All Massachusetts businesses and institutions are encouraged to register now for the virtual Fall 2020 WasteWise Forum! Taking place on Tuesday, November 10 from 10am-12pm, this free webinar will focus on strategies that organizations can adopt to support food waste diversion in their operations. Presenters for the session include representatives from the US EPA, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), RecyclingWorks in Massachusetts (RecyclingWorks), Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), and Fruit Center Marketplace.

During this event, attendees will receive updates about the Massachusetts Commercial Organics Waste Ban, including the proposed expansion of the ban that would apply to businesses that generate a half ton or more of food waste per week, as well as resources to support compliance. Presenters will share highlights of successful programs that have reduced food waste through donation and composting, as well as various technologies and platforms that support food waste prevention. Additionally, presentations will include recommendations for maintaining effective waste diversion programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
