On November 16, Newton became the 5th community in Massachusetts to ban the sale of miniature alcohol or “nip” bottles. Taking effect on June 30, 2022. We can look forward to fewer of these bottles littering our roadways and parks, and result in less plastic pollution in our environment. This was an action by the Licensing Commission through the initiative of Councilors Alison Leary, Andrea Kelley and Emily Norton. Thanks to all who advocated for this action!
