Come learn how the Charles River Watershed Association’s Regional Tree Planting & Protection Plan helps us protect, maintain, and grow our tree canopy. The presentation details the significant role that mature trees play in fighting climate change and steps we can take to protect trees from neglect, drought, construction activity, mulch volcanoes, gas leaks, and other threats.

- Dira Johanif, Senior Climate Resilience Associate with the Charles River Climate Compact (CRCC), a partnership of twenty-eight watershed communities that works to design and implement regional climate adaptation projects and nature-based solutions.
- Emilia Dick Fiora Del Fabro, Restoration & Engagement Associate at the Charles River Watershed Association. Emilia works with community stakeholders on watershed restoration.

To promote the climate benefits of trees, volunteers have been calculating how much individual Newton trees prevent flooding, store carbon, and save energy.
