The Newton Resource Recovery Center (115 Rumford Avenue, Newton) will be re-opening for most regular operations with no appointment necessary beginning Tuesday, June 1 (Saturdays hours resume June 5). The site is open to all Newton residents to collect overflow curbside recyclables and items that can only be recycled by drop-off. Keep at mind that no wood furniture or overflow trash is accepted at the site. Find information on how to manage overflow trash and bulky items here. Here are our updates:
- Summer Hours: Tuesday through Friday: 7am-3:30pm, Saturday: 7am-2:30pm
- The Latex Paint Exchange will remain closed, we anticipate reopening this in July; check here for updates.
- Swap Shop will reopen June 11
- Hours: Friday and Saturday 7:30am-1:30pm through October 30
- Book Shed
- Drop-off only day on June 5 from 10am-2pm to restock the shed
- Hours: Tuesday 10am-2pm, Thursday 10am-2pm, Saturday 9am-2pm
- Browsing will be limited to 2 households at a time
- Goodwill’s operations were significantly impacted by the pandemic. The Goodwill donation trailer has not yet returned and there is no return date scheduled.
