Newton resident Laurie Smith-Michaels recently purchased an e-bike after talking to e-bike owners and the e-bike vendors at the recent Green Newton E-bike Expo at the Farmer’s Market. She usually drives and occasionally bikes for leisure in flatter areas or bike trails. The e-bike will replace some of her car trips (in a one car household). Laurie is very excited about her new set of wheels:
“I am so happy that I bought a new e-bike. I rode 8 miles the day I bought it and again the next day. I love that I can access places and keep up with others. I already rode to the farmer’s market, explored a new dinner location with a friend and found out we have a bike path in Newton Upper Falls. One of the reasons I bought it is to get more exercise!”
Green Newton hopes to bring back some of the e-bike owners and e-bike vendors for the GreenEXPO@Harvest Fair in Newton Center on Sunday, October 17 from 10am-4:30pm. Hope to see you there!
