The climate roadmap bill that passed in 2021 specified that Massachusetts must reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. In addition to setting required emissions reductions to achieve net-zero, the 2021 climate roadmap bill also mandated the Commonwealth to write a Clean Energy and Climate Plan (CECP), the document that would lay out how to get there. The state has just released a draft outline of that plan.
The State of Massachusetts is collecting comments on its plan to reach net-zero in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Learn more about the current proposal as explained by the Green Energy Consumers Alliance and get information on how to make comments.
