On Monday, September 27 at 5pm, join Mayor Ruthanne Fuller for an online program to honor the legacy of Rachel Carson (1907-1964) and celebrate local climate champions who advocate for carbon emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and conservation of natural resources.

September 27 is the 59th anniversary of the publication of Carson’s book Silent Spring, a work that catalyzed the world wide environmental movement. Carson taught us that our health is intimately connected to the quality of our environment and that prevention is the imperative. Today, our Call to Action is more urgent than ever for the policies and safeguards that protect our health and community from threats such as climate change, pollution, and waste. We know Rachel Carson was right. Share this invitation with members of your organization, colleagues and friends, and let’s make this a day to remember.
