Clean Water Action has joined Habits of Waste to pressure third-party delivery services to allow us to say NO to unnecessary and wasteful items. We’re asking DoorDash, Grubhub, and Seamless to add an “OPT IN” option for accessory items. Currently, you have to “opt-out” or specifically ask for “no utensils” or other accessories.
Due to our grassroots efforts, Postmates and UberEats have already made these changes, and we need the rest to follow suit in order to avoid confusion for restaurants! Now we are targeting DoorDash, Grubhub, and Seamless.
Through our collective action, we can eliminate 40 billion single-use plastic utensils that are thrown away each year, which choke our waterways and harm sea-life.
