Your electric vehicle charging can earn you up to 400 free miles of free driving this summer. And, if you own a smart charger, it may earn you another 400 miles of bonus free driving for a total of 800 free miles. How? Enroll in a three month EV charging study by June 15, 2019 and earn either $25 or $50 incentive payment.
A company called Sagewell is working with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources to better understand EV charging behavior. They are studying the effectiveness of programming vehicles to charge overnight, as well as the resulting impact on electric demand and any additional carbon emissions savings than can be achieved.
To participate, all you need to do is program your car to charge between 10pm and 12pm during weekdays (Monday to Friday). You can charge any time during weekends. It takes just 5-10 minutes to program your car and to enroll in the program. Then, plug in your car whenever you get home, and it will start charging after 10pm. Just set it and forget it! Keep your car scheduled through the end of August, and receive $25. That equates to about 400 miles of free driving and help make EV charging cheaper and cleaner in Massachusetts. If you have an eMotorWerks smart charger, and agree to share your charging data with Sagewell, you’ll receive another $25 for a total of $50! The funds will be sent to you in September 2019.
Your personal information will be kept private and we will only share anonymous charging data as part of the analysis and reporting.
ENROLLING IS SIMPLE: just visit https://www.bringyourowncharger.com/ma to enroll. Complete program information is at https://www.bringyourowncharger.com/faq. They are accepting new participants through June 15.
