Sunday, April 28 at 3:30pm. West Newton Cinema (1296 Washington St, West Newton).

There will be a complimentary screening of the documentary “Inundation District,” a feature-length film about the implications of one city’s decision to ignore the threats posed by climate change and spend billions of dollars on building a new waterfront district — on landfill, at sea level. The 79-minute film, a production by The Boston Globe, premiered in the fall of 2023 as the closing night film of the GlobeDocs Film Festival. See more about the film on FilmFreeway here.

The film will be followed by a discussion/Q&A with producer/director and Boston Globe environmental reporter David Abel, moderated by Charles River Watershed Association executive director (and former Newton city councilor) Emily Norton.

The event will be in the 220-seat first floor front theatre. Admission is free, and no reservation is required, but seating will be first come first serve.
