Thursday, May 30 from 10am-12pm. Boston College, Yawkey Athletic Center (140 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill).

Congressman Jake Auchincloss invites you to his Massachusetts 4th District PFAS Summit.

Navigating changing PFAS regulations has posed a challenge for municipalities as they seek to address these contaminants in their drinking water supply. The summit brings together representatives from the federal, state, and local levels to discuss the state of play for addressing PFAS, especially now that EPA has released its final National Drinking Water Standard for PFAS pollution. You will also learn about some emerging technologies that are being pioneered to address PFAS contamination, from replacing it at the source to its destruction.

This summit will feature representatives from each level of government to share the key PFAS guidelines and updates you will want to track. Speakers will include:

  • David Cash, EPA Regional Administrator for Region 1 (New England)
  • John Beling, MassDEP Deputy Commissioner for Policy & Planning
  • Jennifer Pederson, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Water Works Association
  • John Gardella, Shareholder at CMBG3 Law
  • Chris Brown, Associate at RA Capital who will provide a landscape of emerging PFAS technology.

You will also be able to speak with representatives from the Clean Water Trust, MassDEP, and others at a Resource Fair during the event. Two local startups working on PFAS technology, Aclarity and DetraPel, will be on hand to demonstrate some of their products/technology.
