Join Green Newton’s team of Event Day Volunteers to help make our community events a success! From setting up tables and greeting attendees to helping with activities or sharing information about sustainability, your time and enthusiasm help us reach more people.
Time Commitment
1–3 hours at a single event. Sign up for one or more events throughout the year.

What You’ll Do
- Welcome attendees and assist at Green Newton’s booth or event tables

Event Photographer

Love capturing great moments?
Help document Green Newton’s events by taking photos that showcase the energy, creativity, and community spirit behind local climate action. Your images will help us tell our story, celebrate our volunteers, and inspire others to get involved.
Time Commitment
1–2 hours per event, depending on event length. Attend one or more events throughout the year based on your availability. This is a great role for photographers who love capturing authentic community moments that help move Newton toward a cleaner, greener future.
What You’ll Do
- Photograph Green Newton events, speakers, and activities
- Capture candid shots of attendees and volunteers in action
- Select and share your best photos for use on our website, social media, and publications
- Coordinate with staff to ensure coverage of key moments
What We’re Looking For
- Experience or strong interest in event or candid photography
- Access to a DSLR, mirrorless, or high-quality phone camera
- Ability to take clear, well-composed photos
- Friendly, approachable demeanor when interacting with participants

Become a Green Newton Neighborhood Ambassador and help spread the word about upcoming programs, events, and local climate initiatives. It’s an easy, personal way to make a difference right where you live.
Time Commitment
1–2 hours as needed for specific campaigns or events. Flexible and simple — a perfect role for people who want to take small, meaningful actions that help grow Newton’s climate movement.
What You’ll Do
