Green Decade Newton and Newton’s Department of Public Works is especially grateful to the dozens of wonderful volunteers who placed well over 20,000 “recycling education stickers” onto residential green bins during the summer months. The “Recycle Sticker Project” reminds everyone of what may and may not be placed in our green bins.Funding for printing the stickers was provided by Green Decade, Whole Foods Markets Newton and Waste Management with a goal to raise awareness about recycling…not only to benefit our environment, but
to also reap substantial financial savings on the cost of disposing the City’s trash. Green Decade is continuing to distribute the stickers to residents – if they have not yet received stickers on their green bins – at our events and at Farmer’s Market. Many thanks to everyone that helped to make our recycling project a success!
