We’re Hiring: Fall Part-time Student Internships

Are you a college or graduate student passionate about climate action and clean energy? Green Newton is looking for motivated interns to join our team this fall!

About Green Newton

Green Newton is a local nonprofit working to advance clean energy, climate action, and environmental sustainability in our community. We partner closely with city government, schools, community organizations, and fellow nonprofits to build sustainable solutions to the environmental challenges facing Newton and communities across Massachusetts.

What You’ll Do

This internship offers hands-on experience across a wide range of environmental work, up to 15 hours per week. Depending on your interests and our current projects, you might:

  • Research and record data for local climate and clean energy campaigns
  • Help coordinate educational events and webinars
  • Write articles for our e-newsletter and website
  • Create presentation slides and outreach materials
  • Interview community members about climate change and local environmental issues
  • Attend meetings with city officials and community partners
  • Talk with residents about energy savings and environmental justice
  • Support social media and public art projects
  • Gather field data on local gas leak markers
  • Provide administrative and membership support

The Details

  • Location: Primarily remote, with some on-site work for administrative tasks and community events
  • Pay: $18/hour
  • Duration: August 31 – December 11, 2026 (exact start/end dates are flexible)
  • Positions Available: 2

We’re looking for candidates with strong communication skills, reliability, problem-solving ability, good time management, and attention to detail.

Please note: interns will not be involved in any activities intended to influence matters pending before the Massachusetts General Court, nor in activities covered under the Massachusetts Lobbying Law (M.G.L. c.3, §39).
