The Massachusetts Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change is holding a virtual hearing on the future of clean heat in the Commonwealth. The Committee will hear testimony from government officials, experts, and advocates about recent developments concerning the future of Massachusetts’ gas distribution system and our transition to clean heat, as well as areas where legislative action is still needed to facilitate that transition.
Those developments include:
- the Department of Public Utilities’ new regulatory strategy for the gas system,
- legislative recommendations from the Gas Systems Enhancement Plan Working Group,
- the newly created Office of Energy Transformation within the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs,
- the continued progress of the networked geothermal demonstration projects across the Commonwealth, and more.
Join the livestream of the hearing.
