Take a break this Thursday and come support our sustainability focused women-owned businesses at the Summer Pop-Up Series organized by All Over Newton. Enjoy lunch and do a little shopping:

• Fulfilled Goods – a new low-waste “refillery” with sustainable products. (To celebrate Plastic Free July, Fulfilled Goods is offering $5 off a purchase of $25 of more. No code needed, just mention Green Newton at check-out.)
• Judith’s Kitchen – a market and cafe that has embraced “Recirclables” to cut down on take-out packaging (pre-order instructions below)
• Hustlestop – hair, skin + nail services with environmentally friendly practices and self-care products
• A Taste of France – a bakery employing reusable baskets in their doorstep pastry drop-offs
• Derby Farm – a florist, gift shop, and a 1% FOR THE PLANET BUSINESS—donating 1% of its annual sales to environmental causes
• ThredED, Fashion for a Future – high-end, value-priced, new and like-new summer clothing for women that fund scholarships for under-served youth

Newton’s #1 sandwich shop, Judith’s Kitchen, is this week’s featured restaurant with sandwiches, salads, lunch plates, and ice-cold beverages. Judith’s is one of the few Newton restaurants that has partnered with Recirclable, offering take-out meals in reusable, recyclable, containers.

Marion Bonte, of Marion B., A Taste of France, is popping up with authentic, baked-early-Thursday-morning French pastries and breads. Marion delivers her baked goods to Newton doorsteps in baskets and containers designed to be reused, refilled, or composted. She’ll have fresh Baguettes, Cannelés, Madeleines, Brioches, Meringues, and more. Pre-orders help Marion gauge demand, and eliminate waste, and must be placed no later than midnight on Tuesday for pick up on Thursday. (Just select Allen Center as your pick up spot upon check out.) Marion will have limited baked goods available for sale at The Allen Center.

Newton Centre’s Derby Farm Flowers–which has been featured in Vogue for their floral arrangements–is taking pre-orders for their Summer Sunshine Bouquets–order online and they’ll be waiting for you at The Allen Center on Thursday. They will also have a selection of farm fresh flowers for purchase on-site. Derby Farm is showing off a selection of its colorful and sleek French Fermob patio furniture, along with home and garden accents. Derby Farm is a 1% FOR THE PLANET BUSINESS,—donating 1% of its annual sales to environmental causes.

Fulfilled Goods, Newton’s first low-waste refillery, is all about sustainability. With the feel of a general store, this gorgeous shop, located on Washington Street across from Whole Foods in Newtonville, is popping up with a selection of useful and sustainable merchandise, perfect for home use and gift-giving.

New Newton salon, Hustlestop, is popping up with some of their eco-friendly self-care products for hair, skin, and nails. Stop by to learn about their time and money-saving approach to hair and nail services, which gets clients get in and out the door quickly, looking polished without spending a day (and a paycheck). Hustlestop is located at 400 Homer Street, near the Newton Free Library.

And ThreadED, Fashion for a Future is popping up with racks of high-end, value-priced, new and like-new summer clothing for women. Sales of their garments fund scholarships, mentoring, and internships for under-served local youth pursuing higher education. Also, if you happen to have one or two pristine, high end pieces languishing in your closet that you would like to donate, please bring them to the pop up!

⭐️ Important Lunch Ordering Information ⭐️

Lunches must be pre-ordered by 3:30pm on Wednesday, July 12. This week, payment is made by credit card on Judith’s Kitchen’s secure website. Here are the ordering instructions:

• Click HERE
• Scroll to “ALLEN HOUSE LUNCH ORDER JULY 13” and select your meals.
• Before check out, in the empty Notes section, type in “ALLEN CENTER.”
• When you check out you will need to create an ID and password.
• If you place an order when Judith’s Kitchen is closed, schedule your order for later and you’ll then be prompted for a date and time.
• Then you will be asked for your credit card payment information.

While this ordering process may take a little longer upfront, it will streamline the pick up process on Thursday.

The covered patio is open for lunch and shopping rain or shine. If the weather takes a turn for the worst everything moves indoors. Please park in the lot at the corner of Webster and Cherry Streets, on-street, where parking is allowed, or in one of the public lots in West Newton Square.
