Filmed across four continents over the course of twenty-two months, The New Fire focuses on how the generation facing the most severe impact of climate change is fighting back with ingenuity and hope. The film tells a provocative and startlingly positive story about a planet in crisis and the young heroes who are trying to save it.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the film’s Emmy-winning director, David Schumacher, Lisbeth Gronlund (Senior Scientist and Co-director, Global Security Program, Union of Concerned Scientists), and Michael Short, (MIT Class ’42 Career Development Assistant Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering).
