The unfortunate fact is that over 98% of people in the U.S. have PFAS in their blood. PFAS have also been found in wildlife, soil, and water around the world. The PFAS that have been studied are toxic at extremely low levels, and have been linked to:
- Several types of cancer
- Reproductive and developmental problems
- Weakened immune systems
We must do our best to protect ourselves from exposure to this group of 15,000 chemicals. Start with the following steps:
- Use PFAS-free cookware.
- Filter drinking water.
- Avoid stain resistant products.
- Opt for natural products.
- Avoid microwave popcorn.
- Check personal care products.
- Avoid waterproof clothing.
- Minimize takeout packaging.
