Tip of the Week: Keep Your Lawn and Garden Undisturbed Through May to Help Pollinators

No Mow May encourages people to leave their lawn undisturbed through the month of May to help bees and other pollinators that lack abundant food sources this time of year. This is one way to help provide a habitat for wildlife, reduce your carbon footprint, save time and money, and connect with nature. It’s time to let your lawn grow wild!

Other ways to benefit native bees and other pollinators:

  • Let more time pass between mows than usual.
  • Plant native plants in your yard, especially ones that bloom in early spring.
  • Reduce your lawn size.
  • Eliminate your use of herbicides and pesticides.
