Thursday, May 22, 7:30pm. Online.

You’re invited to join Green Newton for a short online presentation about an exciting clean energy opportunity that could benefit your home and our community.

This initial phase of the project is focused on the area around Countryside Elementary School, but even if you don’t live nearby, you’re still welcome to attend. We hope to expand this effort to other Newton neighborhoods in the future, so this is a great chance to learn about the project and how it might grow.

We’re exploring whether a geothermal energy system—like the one being installed at Countryside School—could be expanded to nearby homes. This innovative, fossil fuel–free technology uses the stable temperature below the earth’s surface to provide efficient heating and cooling all year long.

At this 30-minute Zoom session, you’ll:

  • learn how neighborhood geothermal systems work;

  • hear about the potential benefits for homeowners—including energy savings, lower emissions, and greater comfort;

  • see how the Countryside neighborhood could become a model for renewable energy in Newton; and

  • get your questions answered.

Ready to take the next step?
You can also sign up for a free, no-obligation home visit from a trained volunteer. The visit takes about 30 minutes and helps us understand if your home could be a good fit for this project. All we need is a quick look at your heating system and copies (or emails) of your utility bills.
