Tip of the Week: Do Not Recycle Plastic Plant Pots at the Curb

Plastic plant pots, trays, and markers should not be placed into the curbside recycling cart nor into the recycling dumpsters at the Newton Resource Recovery Center (115 Rumford Ave, Auburndale). In general, these items should be placed into the trash.

Reuse

The Swap Shop at the Newton Resource Recovery Center accepts donations of plant pots on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30am-1:30pm (weather and staff availability permitting). Residents are welcome to take donated pots home.

Recycling?

The Home Depot and Lowes websites state that they accept plant pots for recycling. Home Depot stores have a designated marked area for pots. For Lowes, you can return the pots to an associate.
