Tip of the Week: Use the Native Plant Trust’s Garden Plant Finder Database to Find Native Plants for Your Garden

The Native Plant Trust is the nation’s first plant conservation organization and the only one solely focused on New England’s native plants. They maintain a database of native plants that is searchable by different criteria. Search for plants by name using “quick search” to get photos and cultivation information about the plant. Or, look for plants based on plant type, size, flower color, ecoregion, exposure, moisture, bloom season, and even cultivation status.

Want to Purchase Native Plants?

Garden in the Woods (180 Hemenway Road, Framingham) is a botanic garden operated by the Native Plant Trust that showcases New England native plants in a natural setting. Their Garden Shop sells native perennials, trees, and shrubs. In line with Native Plant Trust’s mission to support biologically diverse landscapes, they have a large number of species-type, seed-grown plants available for sale. See the list of plants for sale.
