Tip of the Week: Repair Your String Lights or Bring Them to the Recycling Center

An estimated 150 million light sets are sold in America each year. Though beautiful on your house, tree or mantel, string lights don’t belong in your green recycling bin. They wrap around machinery at your local recycling facility, causing sorting to come to a grinding halt. What to do if yours no longer work?

Fix it: Broken string lights may be an easy fix – try this repair tip video.

Recycle it: Bring it to the Newton Resource Recovery Center (115 Rumford Avenue, Auburndale) and place them in the electronics recycling area.
