Tip of the Week: Paper Cups are Now Recyclable in Massachusetts

Paper cups are now officially recyclable in Massachusetts.  This includes paper coffee cups, dixie cups, and the paper cups used for fountain drinks.

  • Empty food and/or liquid.
  • Plastic lids from paper coffee cups should be placed in the trash.
  • Clear plastic lids from clear cups can be placed back on the cup (but no straws) and placed in the curbside recycling cart.
  • Place in curbside green recycling cart.

Remember, the best option is to use reusable cups. Bring your own or ask for a ceramic cup to drink inside.
