Tip of the Week: City will Operate on a Regular Curbside Trash Collection Schedule for Indigenous People’s Day Holiday

Beginning in June of 2025, the City of Newton eliminated some holiday trash and recycling pickup delays. There is now NO holiday pickup delay for Juneteenth, Indigenous People’s Day, Veteran’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, and Presidents’ Day. This means the upcoming October 13 Indigenous Peoples Day week will operate on the regular pickup schedule.

Collection will continue to be delayed by one day for  New Year’s Day*, Patriots’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day*, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas* (*with no delay if holiday falls on Saturday.)
