Join the Discussion on ‘Tear-Down or Reuse: What are the Climate Tradeoffs?’ on December 11

Thursday, December 11, 9am. Online.

Can we replace older housing with denser, transit oriented, and all-electric housing development?
Can we limit embodied carbon impacts of new construction by building less and reusing more?
How long is a reasonable carbon payback period for new construction?
What does this mean for the future of housing development?

David Mendels will be presenting his exciting new calculator designed to tackle these tough questions. David created this dashboard for the Brookline context, although it provides useful insights for climate advocates around the state.

Speaker

David Mendels is a member of Town Meeting in Brookline, MA and a co-founder of ZeroCarbonMA. He sits on multiple non-profit and start-up boards. Earlier in his career he spent 25 years in several software companies.
