Getting a Free Home Energy Assessment

If your home feels drafty or you’re getting ready to make other upgrades, it’s a good time to start thinking about insulation.

The very first thing to do is schedule a no-cost Home Energy Assessment. Massachusetts residents are eligible to receive one every two years, and there are a few options:

Schedule an assessment directly with Mass Save by calling (617) 329-4824 or visiting the Newton Community First Partnership page.

We’re excited to share that Green Newton and the City of Newton are part of the Community First Partnership, a special initiative that helps residents access Mass Save incentives that lower energy bills, make homes more comfortable, and reduce our community’s carbon footprint—all at little or no cost to you depending on your eligibility.

Schedule an assessment with Homeworks – a Home Performance Contractor.

HomeWorks Energy has partnered with Green Newton, to help residents take advantage of the state’s Mass Save® Energy Savings Program to improve their homes and support our efforts for the city of Newton. After your home energy assessment, you’ll be sent a report with recommended work and costs, so you can make informed decisions about your home.

Check out Green Newton’s Green Pages to find Home Performance Contractors and trusted Insulation experts.

Proper insulation before upgrading your heating system can cut energy costs by up to 20%.
