It is possible to switch from a contract with another electricity supplier to enroll in Newton Power Choice and opt up to New England sourced 100% renewable electricity. However, we recommend that you carefully check the terms and conditions of your supplier agreement first. Your ability to terminate your agreement with your supplier may be restricted.
If you decide to enroll in Newton Power Choice, be sure your current supplier has returned your electricity account to Eversource’s Basic Service before calling Direct Energy at 1-866-968-8065 (access your Eversource account number first).
If you decide to wait until the end of your current electricity supply contract before enrolling, be sure to clearly tell your electricity supplier to return you to Eversource’s Basic Service at the end of your contract and not to keep you enrolled past the end of your contract.
