You may have mastered the habit of taking reusable shopping bags with you to the grocery store, but do you also take reusable produce bags? Much sturdier than the single use plastic produce bags in stores, these bags come in a variety of sizes and fabrics, and many have toggle pull tops for securing those pesky apples. Some also include a label with the tare weight so the cashier can deduct the weight of the bag at the register.
The reusable bags require a financial investment, but once you have them, they will securely hold your produce for many years. Once you’ve put away the fruits and veggies, store them in the reusable grocery bag until your next trip to the store. Bam, you have ditched another single use plastic bag!
