Please join Friends of Cold Spring Park at their first public event on Monday, June 3 at 7:30pm at the Zervas Elementary School (30 Beethoven Ave., Waban). Naturalist Sam Jaffe, founder of The Caterpillar Lab, will speak on “The Natural Wonders of Cold Spring Park.”  Sam grew up playing in the park, collecting insects and identifying its plants & animals. He’s identified 150 species of birds, 32 butterflies and many species of reptiles, amphibians, insects and mammals in the park.

Learn about:

  • the park’s many diverse habitats and inhabitants;
  • how Sam is working with Zervas teachers to use the park as an outdoor classroom;
  • threats to the park’s ecosystem and how you can help preserve it;
  • our plans to rehabilitate the trail, and progress to date.

And please share your own suggestions for improving the park! Refreshments will be available and all are welcome.
