Do you wince every time you get takeout because of the unavoidable stack of single use plastic containers and lids that come with it? Yet we seem to have no other options. Hear from Margie Bell of Recirclable, an Arlington, MA-based company that provides reusable containers and a phone tracking app to restaurants for customer take-out. Learn how it works and which Newton restaurants are offering this service.
There will also be a discussion of the expansion of the sustainable packaging ordinance which originally banned styrofoam in Newton, and hopes now to ban black plastic takeout containers and other single use plastic items.
The talk is sponsored by the Newton Free Library and Green Newton.
