On their website, National Grid posts a section on “Our vision for a fossil free future.” A part of this future includes the generation and transport of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and hydrogen mixed with natural gas, and transported through their network of pipelines. Green Energy Consumer Alliance (GECA) has puts forth an argument for why these sources are not good fossil free alternatives for the majority of applications that have been proposed, including heating homes and businesses.
