Newton's Earth Day Festival

Bring your friends and family to Newton’s own Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 24 from 1-4pm at the War Memorial Circle at Newton City Hall (1000 Commonwealth Ave., Newton) for live music, petting zoo, face painting, green technology showcase, an EV expo, nature themed activities, snacks, and more.

Are you looking to lead a greener lifestyle? We have a terrific line-up of exhibitors ready to answer all your questions on waste reduction & composting, electric vehicles, solar power, insulation, heat pumps, gardening & pollination.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE DISPLAY
Are you considering an Electric Vehicle? Check out the EV Display at the festival, where many of our Newton neighbors will be available to tell you more about their experience. This is the perfect time to ask an EV owner about charging stations, EV ranges, pricing and other questions. See below for a list of vehicles that will be present!
FOR KIDSFOR KIDS
Our Earth Day Festival is jam packed with fun activities for kiddos of all ages. There will be a petting zoo, face painting, books, bingo, nature themed activities, ice cream, and more! Do a storywalk by the pollinator garden with the Newton Pollinator Working Group (with a kids' book giveaway every half hour!) and learn all about worms and vermicomposting with Newton Community Farm.
FAMILY BIKE RIDE
Join Bike Newton for a family-friendly 10 mile bike ride to Auburndale Cove! Meet up at the Bike Newton table at 12:45pm for a 1-2pm ride. Be sure to check Bike Newton for last minute updates. E-bikes will also be available to view and test with Landry's Bicycles!
ENTERTAINMENT
Enjoy live music from local band Dark Crushes (approximately 2-3pm). Get ready to hear some great tunes to inspire us all on Earth Day!

Event will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, portions of the event will be held indoors at Newton City Hall by the War Memorial entrance. The event is sponsored & organized by Green Newton, the City of Newton’s Climate Team, and the EV Task Force.
