On Wednesday, July 10, Massachusetts State Representative Ruth Balser and Director of the MA Sierra Club, Deb Pasternak, met with Green Newton’s President, Marcia Cooper, and a group of Newton citizens, including high school students, to discuss environmental bills that have been filed at the State House.

This proved to be an excellent opportunity to express gratitude to Representative Balser for her sponsorship of bills, such as An Act to Secure a Clean Energy Future (S2005/H2802); An Act to Promote Green Infrastructure and Reduce Carbon Emissions (H.2810), co-sponsored with Representative Benson; and An Act Relative to Environmental Justice and Toxics Reduction in the Commonwealth (H.826/S.464), co-sponsored with Representatives Dubois and Eldridge. The group also urged Representative Balser to continue her commitment to work on the passage of these bills and others that would create clean energy jobs and ensure environmental justice for all.

Please contact Marcia Cooper if you are interested in participating in Green Newton’s legislative advocacy on the environment.
