The Newton Community Farm (303 Nahanton Street, Newton) is seeking high school students for their Summer Fieldwork Intern Program.

Do you want to do meaningful work for a local organization this summer? Eat fresh vegetables that you harvested? Toil outside with your peers and our interesting farmers? Develop your leadership skills? If so, apply soon for our fieldwork intern program.

Newton Community Farm is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working, curious high school students to join our team—no farming or gardening experience necessary. Summer internships are unpaid opportunities for high-school-age youth to learn about organic and community farming in a fun, friendly environment. The minimum requirement for the internships is two consecutive weeks; three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 8am to noon for the field crew.

There are limited spots available per session, so apply early to get preferred weeks. Applications are due by June 16. Go to the NCF website for more information about the program and to download application forms. Also, read what former interns Andy Miller and Catherine Hanns have to say about their time at the farm.
