Sunday, October 26, 10am-12pm. Cold Spring Park (1094 Beacon St., Newton).
Help restore the health of the Cold Spring Park plant community by removing plants that harm our native ecosystem. We will work with the Phi Sigma Rho sorority group from Northeastern University to clear buckthorn in the area between the path near the Zervas School and Beacon Street. This area is one of the most biodiverse in the park. Meet at Green Newton’s Climate Action kiosk behind the Beacon Street parking lot.
Wear long sleeves. Bring garden gloves. Best to tuck pant legs into socks. Steady rain will cancel our session. If in doubt, contact Katherine Howard at 617-721-2571. If you are new to the invasives sessions, see the FAQs on the Newton Conservators website and complete the volunteer release form.
Can’t make this date? Join the Newton Conservators on November 9 for an invasive plant pull near Rumford Avenue.
