The GreenEXPO, which takes place alongside the Harvest Fair in the Newton Center parking lot on Sunday, October 20 from 10am-4:30pm, aims to make living green easier with renewable energy options, sustainable home products, and much more. Kids will have many activities to try.

Highlighted at the EXPO will be EV (Electric Vehicle) transportation options. Electric cars have come a long way, and they provide many benefits beyond sustainability–no smelly exhaust, no oil changes, no gasoline smell on your hands, smooth and quiet drive, smartphone remote control, and more.

  • Take a free test drive of an electric car and see how well it drives!
  • Ask EV owners about their experience driving and maintaining their cars. Do they worry about running out of charge? What kind of maintenance is there? How much does charging cost?
  • Talk to volunteers about the federal and state tax credits and discounts that can make an EV purchase very attractive.
  • Visit Greenspot, the e-mobility company that recently installed public charging stations in Newtonville and Auburndale, at their booth and find out more about the company and how their charging stations work.
