SUMMARY:Workshop: Build Your Own Self-Watering Veggie Planter
DESCRIPTION:Fulfilled Goods is all about reusing and repurposing existing materials vs. tossing them in a landfill. Many of the products in the refillery come in 5 gallon buckets. The empties are usually sent back to their closed-loop partners to clean and reuse\, but this time around they are holding on to them for global buckets – a self-watering planter made from 5 gallon buckets. \nJoin the Fulfilled Goods team and Farmer Tim (the store’s CSA partner*) as he demonstrates how to build a global bucket. You’ll be provided all the supplies you need including composted soil courtesy of Black Earth Composting. Farmer Tim will be bringing a variety of tomato\, pepper\, and eggplant plants from his greenhouse for you to choose from. You’ll go home with your own self-watering planter ready to go! (or rather\, ready to GROW! ) \nWorkshop cost: $35 \n*Interested in locally grown veggies all summer? There are still spots left in the CSA. ($540 for 20 weeks; pickup on Wednesdays at Fulfilled Goods)

SUMMARY:The Approaching MA Climate Bill Showdown
DESCRIPTION:The State Senate will imminently take up this session’s major climate bill. Despite many positive provisions\, Massachusetts Climate Action Network (MCAN) has concerns; the largest is that the House version includes a devastating $1 billion cut to Mass Save. Climate advocates must mobilize now to ensure that the bill that ends up on the Governor’s desk contains the best provisions possible. \nMCAN is proud to have Dan Zackin and Mark Dyen of 350 Mass provide a virtual presentation on pressing legislative developments and how you can help ensure Massachusetts remains a leader on climate action. \nThe first hour will consist of the program with a Q&A session\, and then we will open the floor to discussion until 1:30. \nRegister
