SPRING 2018 COMMUNITY TREE PLANTINGS

April 28, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP WITH SPRING 2018 COMMUNITY TREE PLANTINGS

After an extreme winter with an unusual level of tree damage, we're
looking forward to our Spring 2018 Community Tree Plantings on Saturday,
April 28 (alternate date April 29 in event of very bad weather on April
28). Including our training location (Garland Road on April 7) we'll be
planting over 100 trees this spring.

April 28 planting groups are:
-- Rangeley Road, West Newton
-- Fordham/Lodge neighborhood, West Newton
-- Clements Road, Newton Corner
-- Auburn St/Arapahoe Road, Auburndale
-- Melrose Ave neighborhood, Auburndale

Start time will be 8:30am at all locations. We expect to finish these
groups about 2-1/2 hours later, and then plant about a dozen replacement
and additional trees at previous group locations, including Roundwood
Road in Upper Falls, where new gas mains have eliminated leaks that
prevented us from planting some spots last spring.

As usual, homeowners and residents receiving trees are participating,
but we greatly appreciate help from past tree recipients and our
members. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE DEFINITELY, PROBABLY, OR
POSSIBLY, ABLE TO HELP, and also if you would be available on the
alternate morning of April 29.

It's also helpful to know if:
-- this would be your first time at a tree planting
-- you would prefer a non-physical task (like standing back to make sure
the tree is straight as others fill the hole)
-- you would be bringing anyone else to help (e.g. teenage son or
daughter)
-- you prefer a particular location (If no preference, we try to send
people to a location that's near where they live.)
