The Newton Conservators are co-sponsoring an evening at the New Art Center (61 Washington Park, Newton) featuring caterpillars from The Caterpillar Lab on May 16 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

This drop-in free exploration exhibit is appropriate for all ages and levels of experience. Examine dozens of species of native caterpillars, watch them hatch, shed, pupate and live out their lives right in front of you. Bring your sketch pad, camera, nature notebook,or just your curiosity. Chat with The Caterpillar Lab’s experts, learn their stories and tell your own.
The Caterpillar Lab fosters greater appreciation and care for the complexity and beauty of our local natural history through live caterpillar educational programs, research initiatives, and photography and film projects. We believe that an increased awareness of one’s local environment is the foundation on which healthy and responsible attitudes towards the broader natural systems of this world is built.
