Reinventing “Coffee” Hour Treat & Tea Time
Wednesday, November 5, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
The Eliot Church of Newton
474 Centre St. Newton, MA 02458
Step into a new kind of community gathering! As part of our Greening Your Houses of Worship series, this event is all about discovering joyful, sustainable ways to connect.
What’s brewing?
- Learn how induction stoves can transform the way we cook.
- Explore the art of Chinese tea—taste five out of six traditional varieties!
- Join a lively conversation on why it might be time to swap out “coffee hour” for “tea time.”
Special Guests: Alexander Lee and Iris Tang will share their knowledge of the Boston Tea Party, Chinese tea traditions, and induction stoves to spark a fun, interactive evening of camaraderie among Newton’s faith communities.
Come in a mask, your Halloween costume, or just as you are—everyone’s welcome (yes, grown-ups can dress up too!).
Bring a vegan or vegetarian dish to share by 6 PM and add your flavor to the feast.
This is your chance to sip, taste, laugh, and learn—while reimagining traditions in a way that’s kinder to the planet.
