Please join the Newton Needham Regional Chamber at the Newton Innovation Center (124 Vernon St., Newton) on Wednesday, October 24 from 4-6pm for a workshop focused on how small businesses can implement energy efficiency products to help reduce energy costs. The Newton-Needham Energy $avers program has helped local businesses take advantage of over $3 million to fund energy upgrades. Through the program, eligible businesses receive free energy audits, financing for upgrades, and rebates on lighting, heating, cooling and other upgrades through the Mass Save program. Up to 80% of these costs for products and installation are covered by World Energy, the company contracted to carry out the work on behalf of Eversource.
Joe Prestejohn, owner of Cabot’s Ice Cream, will give an overview of how he was able to save $6,500 a year on his utilities costs including upgrading energy saver equipment. Cabot’s, an iconic Newton business has had a lot of success in bringing in small changes which resulted in big impacts on reducing their utilities.
