Please call your Massachusetts Representative and Senator this week to urge the Conference Committee of the Massachusetts State Legislature to put forth a consensus climate bill before the new year.  You can find email and phone scripts here.

If the Conference Committee fails to put forth a consensus climate bill, the long-term public health of the Commonwealth will be undermined, particularly for Black, Brown, low-income, and non-native English speaking residents.

We want climate legislation that includes the Environmental Justice amendment and create opportunities for towns and cities to adopt a Net Zero stretch code. We must require investor-owned utilities to take climate into account when calculating cost benefits, and ensure biomass is removed as a source of non-emitting energy that municipal light plants can burn.

After 12 years without statewide climate action, our legislature has a unique opportunity to take leadership this session by passing climate legislation NOW.
