Green Newton supports transitioning to clean heat for homes, schools, and other buildings. Some of the work to make that a reality is happening at the Massachusetts State House this summer. In July, there will be two legislative hearings at the Massachusetts State House for one of Mothers Out Front Massachusetts’ highest priority bills: the Future of Clean Heat (H.3203/ S. 2105).

Visible strong support from Mothers Out Front and partner groups, including Green Newton, at the hearings will build momentum in both branches. We want so many people to sign up that they have to move the hearings from their scheduled small rooms to the Gardner Auditorium to accommodate a sea of women in blue Mothers Out Front t-shirts. So be sure to RSVP so we can warn them that a crowd is on its way. Choose the date that works better for you, or attend both!

Wednesday, July 12, 1pm: Senate Hearing RSVP to attend the Senate Hearing
Thursday, July 13, 10am: House Hearing RSVP to attend the House Hearing

We are planning to make this an exciting and powerful two days, with highlights including testimony by Mothers Out Front, allies, and experts. If you RSVP, you will get updates on ways you can participate, as well as detailed information about the schedule. (These hearings will also include other bills we support. You can learn more about the agendas here:  Senate Hearing and House Hearing.)

Here is a great fact sheet, Ten Reasons to Love the Future of Clean Heat Legislation. Send it to your friends to recruit them to attend the hearing with you.
